This Independent Marine Cadet Unit was formed in September 2001, hence its title 901 Troop, and is based at Winterton-on-Sea.

The Unit parade twice weekly. Mondays at Flegg High School, Martham and Fridays at the Village Hall, Kings Corner, Winterton-on-Sea, from 1845 hrs to 2130 hrs. Our aim is to provide opportunities for young people Male and Female, aged 11 to 18 years, to develop into responsible, dependable and useful members of society. To promote self discipline and comradeship. To teach the principles of leadership and help young people achieve their full physical and intellectual potential through the system of Military discipline, Royal Marine ethos and adventure training. Our activities include: Military tactics, drill, field craft, adventure training, survival, route marching, map reading, weapon safety, first aid and many others. We plan and execute weekend training exercises and participate in a one week summer camp away from base. We require our Cadets, with the support of their Parents or Guardian, to show commitment, maintain high standards, show respect for others and always give "Best Effort" to any given task. In accordance with our Constitution the Unit is administered and managed by the Executive Committee who are elected to office at our annual general meeting. We are affiliated to: Youth Clubs Norfolk. The National Association of Young Persons Clubs. Norfolk Council for Voluntary Youth Services and are full members of the Federation of Independent Nautical Training Organisations.
UPDATE FROM SENIOR OFFICER, T.C. Byrne - 31st January 2010 Last years programme of events again provided a great challenge for our Cadets with an action packed Summer Camp hosted by the RAF Regiment at Honnington. We are again proud to have been selected to provide the Mayor's Cadet and Sgt Tom Rimmer is very busy in support of Civic events. We continue to support our local villages and our Padre, Fr Adrian Ling, for many Remembrance Day Services and our band have also attended a number of Help for Heroes events. We are proud to do so.
The New Year sets out yet another busy programme for our unit and the challenges will be many, with being "The Best" as our aim
